About me
Hi! I’m Sven. Well, my real name is Paul, but all my friends call me Sven, so you can too. I’m 29 years old and I live in Australia. I grew up in the UK and in November 2008 I gave up my job and cosy life in Blighty and moved to Sydney. I moved over with my boyfriend at the time, but we broke up about eight months after we got here. We’re still great friends though, so I’ll probably talk about him and our hi-jinks a lot. I’ve been blogging for about three years but I accidentally deleted archived all my old stuff and started all over again with a clean slate.
I have a degree in English and Drama, and I’m working hard at realising my dream: to write for a living. Since moving here I’ve landed a great job planning and writing communications for a university. Next step: applying to study my MA in Creative Writing. In the meantime, I also write for 3sixty magazine in the UK about life as a gay Brit in the sexiest city south of the equator.
I like fireworks and ferris wheels, cheesy chips, jam tarts, rubber ducks and tap dancing. I don’t care for brussell sprouts, cats, singing greetings cards and knitwear with vertical stripes. Join me as I stumble around upside down trying to build a life for myself in a brand new city, country, and continent. Still got questions? Get in touch! You can e-mail me on sven@svenyboy.org or leave me a comment.
